How do I Prepare for a Long Trip?
A week or so before you leave on a vacation or a trip it is a good idea to have regular maintenance done. Regular maintenance like oil and filter change will allow us to check out your vehicle before you hit the road.. Specifically, ask our technicians to check the air filter and change it if necessary. Changing the air filter is an inexpensive way to enhance fuel economy and performance. Our standard oil change comes with a multi-point inspection that may prevent a major problem while you are traveling..
Check Your Tires
A lot of modern cars have tire pressure monitoring that you can check from your dashboard. If you need our technicians to check just stop by our shop. Also you should check the tread on the tires for excessive wear. (You can also do this yourself by placing the head of a penny into the tread of the tire. If you can see all of Lincoln’s head, you probably need new tires.) We also recommend that you check to see that the spare tire is inflated and that you have the tools to change a tire if it is necessary.
Check the Coolant
AS part of our multi-point inspection during a routine oil change we will make sure that all of your fluids are at appropriate levels.
MAKE SURE YOUR PAPERWORK IS IN ORDER
Just in case you are pulled over, get in an accident or need road side assistance, make sure your license, registration and insurance are all current and easy to get to.
RELAX!
Enjoy your trip!
